THE BEACHWAY GROUP

Empowering Public Health and Medical Organizations To Transform Health

Good health depends on more than what happens in the doctor’s office. The Beachway Group is dedicated to creating environments that support health and wellness.  Health experts know what works to create optimal health, but implementing what works isn’t always easy. The Beachway Group is experienced in moving organizations, stakeholders, and policy makers to support good health.

ABOUT THE BEACHWAY GROUP

Promoting Health, Preventing Disease

The Beachway Group is a consulting firm founded by Jud Richland to help companies, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies achieve their health policy goals. Jud’s work has had a tangible impact on the health and well-being of Americans.  He has led high-impact policy initiatives that promote health and wellness, and he has initiated a wide range of cutting edge research and health improvement projects.

Jud’s experience includes three stints as President and CEO of Partnership for Prevention, a nonpartisan organization dedicated to evidence-based disease prevention and health promotion. Jud helped create Partnership’s National Commission on Prevention Priorities to rank clinical preventive services based on the services’ health impact and cost-effectiveness. That effort has helped shape the delivery of preventive services across America. Jud also led Partnership’s Real Health Reform Starts with Prevention initiative, which served as the basis for many of the groundbreaking prevention provisions in the Affordable Care Act.

In addition to his work at Partnership for Prevention, Jud served for seven years as the Executive Director of the American College of Preventive Medicine, for eight years as Deputy Director and Acting Executive Director of the Public Health Foundation, for two years as CEO of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, and for eight years at the U.S. General Accounting Office, an arm of the U.S. Congress.  Upon "retiring", Jud has co-founded several companies, including a digital marketing and web development agency, a firm that  uses AI to develop iPhone case designs, and another company that educates and trains people on how to exercise their civil liberties.

Jud received his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California at Berkeley and master’s degrees from the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services and from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas.
